About Our Studio

Our Vision
At WatMac Productions, we believe that every film, no matter how big or small, should make a difference. Whether it's raising funds for vital charities or telling bold, empowering stories that challenge the status quo, our aim is to create work that resonates beyond the screen.
Since we were children, we've both been acutely aware of the scale of the film industry, the vast budgets, the profit margins, the global reach. And while cinema can be magical, we also recognise that there are urgent, real-world issues that deserve more attention, and more investment.
That’s why we’ve made a commitment: if we’re going to be part of this industry, we want to do it differently.
As two young women navigating a space that has too often been shaped by misogyny and gatekeeping, we know firsthand how hard it can be to be seen and heard. But instead of backing down, we're choosing to push forward, creating space, telling stories that matter, and using our platform to spark meaningful change.

WatMac isn't just about film. It's about purpose. It's about voice. And it's about rewriting the rules for the next generation.
Meet Our Team

Beatrice Watson
I’m a writer, producer, and director who has always been drawn to storytelling, not just for the escapism, but for its power to move people, challenge ideas, and create change.
I love making all types of films, but I have a particular passion for crime dramas and murder mysteries. There’s something about uncovering secrets, exploring human psychology, and building tension that really excites me creatively. I enjoy creating stories that keep audiences guessing, and thinking, long after the credits roll.
My work often explores themes of identity, connection, and the quiet complexities beneath the surface. For me, filmmaking is about more than just entertainment, it’s about impact. I want to make films that reflect people’s experiences, spark emotion, and leave a lasting impression.
More than anything, I want to make films that matter. Films that make someone, somewhere, feel seen.

Martha Macpherson
I’m a director and cinematographer with a love for visual storytelling and a deep respect for the craft of filmmaking.
I’ve always been drawn to the visual side of stories, how light, composition, and movement can say as much as words. Whether I’m behind the camera or directing a scene, I focus on creating images that not only look beautiful but feel honest and emotionally true.
I’m passionate about building strong creative atmospheres on set and collaborating closely with other departments to bring stories to life in powerful, intentional ways. I love working across genres, but I’m especially inspired by emotionally driven narratives and films that challenge the audience’s expectations.
To me, filmmaking is a constant balance of precision and instinct, and that’s what keeps me excited about every project we take on.
